Social Media giants Facebook have announced their new advertising format called ‘Product Ads’.
Product Ads will allow e-commerce sites promote products directly via Facebook, with merchants being able to upload their product catalogue, whilst also being able to create campaigns targeting specific audiences with particular products. There’s also the option to allow Facebook to automatically deliver relevant products to people. Sites will have the option to advertise their products in a single or multi-product ad unit.
Below are the two advertising options for Facebook Product Ads;
- Advertisers can automatically reach people who visited their website/app (via Custom Audiences), or reach people based on specific interests, locations, etc.
- Advertisers can curate ads as they see fit. For instance, they can highlight products that were viewed on their website/mobile app or showcase best selling products. Or they can create a multi-product ad that highlights the different benefits of a single product.
